Some common grilling troubles and how to fix them.

Outdoor cooking like grilling or barbecuing undoubtedly comes with lots of fun. But, this is hindered or reduced when there is a problem. We will highlight some of these troubles and how to solve them.

Challenge:

Dried grilled foods. The fire (charcoal) causes this. This smoke strengthens the grilled meat flavor and also causes the food to dry out.

Fix: To fix this I advise to purchase a thicker chunk of meat. Aside from preventing dried grilled food, getting thicker cuts helps hold more juices longer than the thinner cuts. Remember to marinate the flesh food properly for that great taste.

Challenge:

Sticky foods like burgers or fish on the grate. It is caused by dirty or stock of past burnt food on the grate.

Fix:

Keeping the grill clean all the time by heating the grates then scrape with a scrapper before grilling. Also, oil the grate and ensure to wait until the flames have reduced if using charcoal or reduce heat when using gas before placing the meat on the grill.

Challenge:

Monitoring the temperature while grilling or barbecuing

Fix:

Add a grill thermometer to the top of the grill. Always rotate it to test various heat zones. Remember not to allow the steam to touch the dish.
